Volleyball Tournament Software Compared
Eight tools for indoor volleyball events, checked on sets, standings, rotation and price on 25 October 2026
For a one-day volleyball tournament or a club league, the useful test is narrow: can the tool score sets to 25 and 15, rank level teams in the order your regulations use, and put a match on the hall screen? Tournify, Torneo, Copa Fácil and Score7 are general tournament tools with volleyball on a long sport list. SportsEngine AES and Exposure Volleyball serve the US club circuit with registration and scheduling. VolleyStation is a digital scoresheet and statistics system. JudgeMate is free and shows sets and rotation on a live scoreboard, with no payments, player statistics or native app.
Seven checks that matter in volleyball
Almost any tournament tool can draw a bracket. Volleyball adds sets, a table with its own points scale and a rotation the bench keeps an eye on. Go through these seven checks in a test event before you trust a tool with a weekend.
- Set format. Under FIVB rules a set goes to 25 with a two-point lead and a deciding fifth set to 15 (Rules 6.2 and 6.3). Event regulations may set matches to two sets won; the FIVB rules do not require it. You should be able to set points per set and sets to win.
- Table points. The Polish federation's league regulations give 3 points for a 3:0 or 3:1 win, 2 for 3:2, 1 for 2:3 and 0 for a heavier defeat (PSO §51). Its tournament rules give 2 for a win and 1 for a loss (§53). Check that the tool has both scales.
- Tie-break order. PZPS separates teams level on points by number of wins, then set ratio, then point ratio (§52). The FIVB Club World Championship ranks by wins before match points. A tool that offers only set ratio can produce a different table from the one in your regulations.
- Rotation on the board. A scoreboard that shows only points and sets leaves the coach counting rotations on paper.
- Hall screen. One live match on a projector or LED wall, readable from the stands.
- Score entry at the table. Can the scorer enter points from a phone without an organiser account, for example through a QR code for that match?
- Free plan limit and languages. Count your teams. A free plan for eight teams does not cover a twelve-team youth tournament.
Eight options side by side
Every cell comes from the vendor's own site as we read it on 25 October 2026. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the cell says so.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| JudgeMate | Tournaments, leagues, live scoreboard | Sets 25/15, rotation 1–6 on the board | Free | — | en, pl, de, es |
| Tournify | Tournaments and leagues, 50+ sports | “Set scoring” | Up to 8 teams per event | €40 per event | English, Polish and other site versions |

| VolleyStation | Digital scoresheet and statistics | “junior volleyball” scoring | Not published | On request | en, pl, ja |
None of the competitor pages we read names the 3/2/1/0 scale or a rotation indicator. A feature missing from a vendor page may still exist, so test it before the event.
Why the tie-break order changes the table
Two teams in a four-team round robin finish level on match points under the 3/2/1/0 scale.
| Results | Match points (3/2/1/0) | Wins | Sets | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Team A | 3-0, 2-3, 2-3 | 3 + 1 + 1 = 5 | 1 | 7-6 (1.167) |
| Team B | 3-2, 3-2, 2-3 | 2 + 2 + 1 = 5 | 2 | 8-7 (1.143) |
B beat A 3-2 in their own match.
- PZPS order (points, then wins): B is ahead, two wins to one.
- FIVB Club World Championship order (wins first): B again.
- Set ratio first: A, because 1.167 is higher than 1.143.
- Head-to-head first: B, because it won the meeting.
- PZPS tournament scale of 2 for a win and 1 for a loss: no tie at all, B has 5 points and A has 4.
The same six matches give two different winners depending on one setting. Before choosing software, find the article in your competition regulations that ranks level teams and check that the tool can follow it step by step. The volleyball scoring guide covers sets and points in more detail.
Tournify: set scoring and an eight-team free plan
Tournify is a tournament and league tool that lists volleyball among more than 50 sports. Its volleyball page says it suits “both indoor and beach volleyball” and offers set scoring, “ideal for sports like tennis or volleyball”, with drag-and-drop scheduling and “built-in referee assignment”. The same page has FAQ entries on best-of-3 and best-of-5 scoring and on which tiebreakers rank teams in a group stage. Open that answer and hold it against your regulations.
Pricing is per event. Amateur is free for up to 8 teams and includes a live website and a slideshow. World Class costs €40 per event for up to 60 teams and adds publication in their Android and iOS app. Legendary costs €120 per event with no team limit. A twelve-team youth tournament therefore starts at €40.
We found no rotation indicator on the pages we read. If your coaches rely on one, ask before you pay.
Torneo, Copa Fácil and Score7: volleyball as one sport among many
Torneo by Sofascore answers its own pricing question with “Yes, completely free.” It runs leagues (single or double round robin), knockouts and a group phase into a knockout, with double elimination marked “Coming soon!”. Volleyball is on the sport list next to football, basketball and handball. Eligible competitions are published on Sofascore, and the tool runs on iOS, Android and the web. You need a free account to create a competition.
Copa Fácil lists “fútbol, baloncesto, voleibol y esports” as featured sports and offers leagues, groups and knockouts with configurable tiebreakers. Creating tournaments, adding teams and entering results is free. The Portuguese page prices paid plans in Brazilian reais, from R$ 25 a month for up to 300 players per championship, and ad-free web and app is a paid feature.
Score7 promises “scores that fit your sport, from goals to sets” and a “TV mode for the screen at your venue”. The free Starter plan allows 1 active tournament with a single admin and shows Score7 branding and ads. Premium starts at $9 a month for up to 3 active tournaments and adds auto-scheduling of matches, times and referees.
All three are reasonable choices for a club that also runs football or basketball events. For volleyball, test the set format and the table in a dummy tournament first.
SportsEngine AES and Exposure Volleyball: the US club season
SportsEngine AES calls itself “the only platform purpose-built for volleyball competitions”. Its home page lists events sanctioned by USAV, JVA and AAU, plus LOVB events, alongside hotel reservations and power rankings. The site says SportsEngine is now part of PlayMetrics. We found no published price.
Exposure Volleyball describes itself as volleyball tournament and league scheduling and registration software used “for the past 15 years”. Pricing runs on credits: “A scheduling credit costs $2.00 and represents a visible team in a published event schedule”, and new accounts get 5 free credits. A 100-team event costs $200 to schedule.
Both pay off where an event takes registrations, fees and rankings from US clubs. A school or club tournament in Europe would use a small part of either.
VolleyStation: the scoresheet and statistics side
VolleyStation's site presents use cases from Poland and from the SV.League. VS Score is a “live, digital scoring solution for junior volleyball” that replaces paper prints, and the League suite covers “scoring, statistics, TV integrations, websites and more”. Other products add video breakdowns and remote scouting. Prices are given on request.
This is a different job from running a draw. If your league needs an electronic score sheet and player statistics, VolleyStation belongs on the shortlist. JudgeMate keeps no official score sheet and records no player statistics in volleyball.
JudgeMate: what runs in volleyball and what does not
Teams. A club enters by name, without player accounts. The organiser, a team manager or the players themselves can enter teams, and a volleyball squad defaults to 14 names.
Formats. Round robin, knockout, and groups into a knockout with 1 to 4 groups. With a single group, 2, 4 or 8 teams go through to the knockout. With 2 to 4 groups, 1 or 2 go through from each group, and with 3 groups 1 or 2 of the best teams from the remaining places also go through. A third-place match and a consolation round are available.
Sets. Points per set and sets to win are set for the whole draw or for a single match.
Table. A new tournament draw starts with the FIVB rule set: 3/2/1/0 by sets, with the number of wins ranked first. The PZPS league rule set (PSO §51–52), the PZPS tournament rule set (§52–53, 2 points for a win and 1 for a loss) or custom points can be chosen instead. A league defaults to 3/2/1/0 and picks one of these rule sets when it is created or later in Settings. The custom orders, head-to-head first or set ratio first, are still available.
Live scoreboard. Sets to 25 and a fifth set to 15 with a two-point lead, best of five by default, adjustable to 11, 15, 21 or 25 points and 2 or 3 sets to win. Next to the serve marker the board shows the serving team's rotation number from 1 to 6, counted from side-outs in the set; it does not know the line-up or who stands where. A yellow card records a warning, a red card adds a point to the opponent, time-outs are counted up to two per set, and the board prompts a change of sides at 8 points in the fifth set. The share sheet gives a hall-screen link, and text on spectator screens scales from 50 to 300 %. The organiser confirms the board's result into the draw.
At the venue. Each match with a live scoreboard started gets a referee QR code that opens the panel for that board only. Match cards and the bracket print as PDF, and results export to CSV and PDF.
Price. Free for organisers, no card.
What we do not have: online payments (entry fees are recorded as paid or unpaid, nothing is collected), notifications by email, text or push, a native app, player statistics in volleyball, two-legged ties or a golden set, an official electronic score sheet, and any link to federation systems.

Which one fits your event
You take registrations and fees from US clubs. Exposure Volleyball or SportsEngine AES. JudgeMate records whether a fee is paid and handles no money.
You need an official electronic scoresheet or player statistics. VolleyStation, or your federation's own system.
You want an audience beyond your hall. Torneo publishes eligible competitions on Sofascore. Tournify's paid plans publish in their mobile app, and Copa Fácil runs in an app as well as on the web.
You run a one-day tournament for more than eight teams with no budget. Torneo and JudgeMate are free. Tournify's free plan stops at 8 teams and Score7's at one active tournament.
Your regulations rank level teams by wins. Put the example above through each tool you shortlist. JudgeMate has FIVB, PZPS league and PZPS tournament rule sets with a number-of-wins step.
Your coaches want the rotation on the screen. JudgeMate shows it on the live scoreboard. On the competitor pages we read it is not mentioned, so ask.
Try JudgeMate on your next event
A volleyball event takes about 10 minutes to configure. No athlete limits, no commission on registrations. See volleyball features · Volleyball glossary
