"Free" in this category covers four business models that behave nothing alike once your event grows past a certain size. Sorting them first saves an unpleasant Saturday.

Free up to a size. Tournify to eight teams, the Padel Americano Generator's web arm to eight players and one tournament. Fine for a small night, and the eleventh player is where it stops.

Free but crippled. Turniermeister's demo mode is permanent and needs no card, but it turns off public tournament pages — the thing you wanted. Tournify's free tier keeps your event out of their mobile app, which is their strongest asset.

Free for the organiser, paid by someone else. LigaPadla.pl costs a club nothing and charges every player a licence to compete. Padel Fast is free for players and charges the host.

Free with no ceiling. Rankedin's Basic tier for running a tournament, and JudgeMate across the board.

One question separates all four: what happens on the day you have thirty players instead of eight? For most padel clubs that day arrives faster than expected, which is why the ceiling matters more than the headline.

Two of the most visible free tiers stop at eight, and it is worth seeing why that number keeps appearing.

Eight players on two courts is one round of americano. It is a demonstration, not a club night. The moment a third court opens or four more people say yes, you are over the line — and you usually discover this while people are standing on court waiting for a draw.

Tournify's Amateur tier stops at eight teams, which for padel doubles means sixteen players, and it also keeps the event out of their iOS and Android app. Their app is their strongest asset, with over half a million Android downloads, so the free tier withholds the thing that makes them worth choosing.

The Padel Americano Generator is stricter: their own product strings read "Free plan allows up to 8 players & 1 tournament" and, on a locked event, "The organizer's account is limited to 8 players and 1 tournament." Their marketing site meanwhile advertises tournaments "for any number of players" with no mention of a limit. Both statements come from the same company, which is a good reason to test with your real field size before you commit a Tuesday routine to it.

The paid step in both cases is small — $1.99 for three days, or €40 for a sixty-team event. Nobody is being gouged. But a club running a weekly americano is buying software fifty times a year, and that arithmetic is worth doing in advance.

What free does not include, because a free tier that hides its gaps is worse than a paywall: no court booking, no entry fees or payments of any kind, no ranking or federation integration, no native app, no player profiles or event discovery, no CSV export of tournament results, no undo on a confirmed knockout match, groups only in shapes of two or four with one or two advancing, and three interface languages.

If any of those is load-bearing for your club, a paid product is the right answer and this page has told you which ones to look at.

Someone has to collect entry fees: no free tier does this well. Padel Fast and Tournify have the payment layers, both need a registered business, and both charge the organiser.

Ranking points matter: free is the wrong axis entirely. Rankedin or your regional circuit, and the licence or plan that comes with it.
