What this scoreboard does

Judo is decided by a ladder of scores, not a running total, so a plus-one counter gets it wrong from the first exchange. This board has the four entries that settle a contest: ippon, waza-ari, shido and hansoku-make, one tap each for either side.

The ladder is built in. Ippon ends the contest at once, a second waza-ari on the same side becomes ippon, a third shido gives the contest to the opponent and hansoku-make ends it on the spot. Level scores when the 4:00 clock runs out send the contest into golden score, which counts up from zero with no limit.

One person runs the board from a phone, including the osaekomi timer. Everyone else follows a link or scans a QR code and sees the clock, the scores and the penalties, on a phone or a big screen. No accounts for spectators, no app to install, nothing to pay.

Built around the IJF scoring ladder

Ippon and waza-ari in one tap

Tap the technique for the side that scored. A second waza-ari on the same side closes the contest as ippon; one waza-ari on each side leaves it open.

Shido counted, hansoku-make applied

Each shido is one tap. The third gives the contest to the opponent, and a direct hansoku-make ends it immediately.

Osaekomi timer with the marks on it

The hold timer counts up past the 10-second and 20-second marks. The score itself is your tap, waza-ari or ippon, once the hold has run its time.

Undo reopens the contest

Every entry sits on the contest timeline. Take back the ippon or the third shido that ended it and the contest is open again, ready for the next entry.

Questions about the judo scoreboard

Is the judo scoreboard free?

Yes, and there is no paid tier behind it. Opening a board, running contests and sharing the live view cost nothing, however many contests you score.

Does the osaekomi timer score the hold by itself?

No. The timer counts up and shows the 10-second and 20-second marks; the waza-ari or ippon is your tap once the hold has run its time.

What happens when the contest is level at 0:00?

The board goes into golden score, a clock that counts up from zero with no limit. You enter the deciding score or shido as usual, or award the contest with golden score as the method.

Can I change the contest time?

Yes. The 4:00 default is editable in the format sheet, so an age group with a shorter contest time gets its own clock.

Does it run the bracket and the weight classes?

No. One board scores one contest; brackets, weight classes and the running order live in a JudgeMate event, and the board does not replace a federation-certified system.
